Bute Inlet

HERIOT BAY, MANSONS LANDING & REBECCA SPIT

We arrived in Manson's Landing on May 18.  We tied to the public dock.  This is another pretty place. We walked the sandy beach and the lagoon.  The lagoon pretty much dries out at low tide.  There are all kinds of shell fish species in the lagoon.
We hitched a ride to the Seafest activities at Squirell Cove.  The people here are very friendly and there was no problem getting a ride.  The Seafest was very busy and the food was fantastic.  We had oysters, clams, prawns, all cooked in many different ways. My favorite was the Thai Prawns, yummy!!
There was local entertainment and it was very enjoyable.
When we got back to the boat, there was a local prawn fisherman there selling live prawns.  Yes, we had prawns again for dinner!!
We chatted with a couple that were there buying prawns and the lady was originally from Grand Falls NL and her daughter was one of the entertainers at the Seafest.

Beginning of new adventure

On July 23, we finally are ready to start sailing south.  We have lots of time to stop along the way and enjoy more of this beautiful BC coast.  Anchored in Roscoe Bay for a few nights, it is such a pretty anchorage. Lots of other boats here.
Sailed to Lund on July 25 and spent two nights at the marina there.  We were here last year and really enjoyed the little town! It is very busy and very friendly. We had beautiful sunny weather.
July 27, we sailed to Texada Island.  Had a bit of a bumpy ride at the end of the trip but everything turned out just fine.  Met other boaters and went for dinner.
Lance & Anita(it was Anita's birthday), Joyce and Howard, Denise and Murray.  We all came back to Genesis for drinks and a sing along after dinner.  Murray played the guitar and sang and Denise played the harmonica.  It was a very nice enjoyable evening.  Hope to meet up with them again
sometime on our journey!  July 28 we are in Pender Harbour!
