WEST BAY MARINA AND WALKWAY

West Bay Marina has been our home away from home since July 2011.  It is a beautiful, clean and well kept marina. We are within walking distance of beautiful downtown Victoria.  A water taxi is also available from the marina to downtown.

There are many beautiful floating homes around the marina. 

Lots of boats and many sailors live aboard their boats all year.

A very scenic man made walkway surrounds the marina and takes you all the way downtown via the waterfront.

Geese and ducks make their homes here and live in quiet proximity to us humans.

There are many hotels and condo complex's all along the waterfront. The grounds are always maintained and very clean and eye appealing.

This is the Johnson Street drawbridge which is currently being removed in preparation for a new bridge.  The current bridge is 87 years old and connects downtown and Victoria West.  The new bridge is expected to open in 2016.

The totem poles are also part of the walkway trail. They were given to the people of Canada by BC native artists in recognition of the XV Commonwealth Games.

We have enjoyed many relaxing walks along the waterfront.  The Victoria harbour is very busy with boats and float planes going about their daily business.
